To ensure you have the best experience possible, it is important to understand the potential risks associated with our services and your responsibilities as a client. There are some circumstances when we may not be able to carry out the treatment you are hoping to have done with us. To avoid disappointment, please let us know at the time of booking if anything noted below is relevant to you:

 

Contraindications

At Simply Blissed, we are committed to providing the highest quality treatments tailored to your unique needs. To ensure you have the best experience possible, it is important to understand the potential risks associated with our services and your responsibilities as a client. There are some circumstances when we may not be able to carry out the treatment you are hoping to have done with us. To avoid disappointment, we require an Intake Form to be completed by all clients receiving a service.  This provided information enables our Service Providers to understand your medical history and preferences before the service begin, ensuring a safe and effective experience.  

Simply Blissed reserves the right to refuse or adjust a treatment where it is deemed to be a risk to the health and safety of either the Client or Service Provider.

 if anything noted below is relevant to you.

 

Contraindicators of Massage

FOLLOW THESE PRECAUTIONS
• Clearly communicate with your therapist regarding pain, pressure, or discomfort, and inform them of any allergies to oils or lotions.
• Consult a physician before receiving a massage if you have high blood pressure, diabetes, heart conditions, osteoporosis, or cancer.
• Avoid deep pressure or direct massage on broken bones, open wounds, rashes, bruises, varicose veins, or areas with localized swelling/infection.
• Do not get a massage if you have a fever or contagious illness, as this can spread the infection
• Do not hold your breath during intense work; breathe deeply, especially during stretches

NEVER MASSAGE WHEN
• You have severe thrombosis, phlebitis, or  recent heart attack.
• You have skin conditions such as rashes, open wounds, or contagious skin diseases.
• You have advanced diabetes with compromised circulation or nerve damage.
• You have severe or even moderate osteoporosis. 
• You have recent sunburn.
• You’re undergoing chemotherapy or radiation.

Contraindications of Facials

FOLLOW THESE PRECAUTIONS
• You should wait a minimum of seven (7) days before waxing after a light chemical peel or microdermabrasion
• Do not wax if you have had a laser skin resurfacing in the past year
• Do not wax if you have had a doctor-administered peel in the past two (2) years
• Ladies may encounter additional sensitivity to waxing as long as seven days before the start of their period
• No waxing on sunburned skin
• No waxing on irritated regions

NEVER WAX WHEN
• You take Accutane or have quit taking it for under a year.
• You’re taking any prescription acne meds.
• You have Lupus or HIV.
• You’re undergoing chemotherapy or radiation.
• You have been in direct daylight for an extensive stretch of time.
• You have utilized a tanning bed within the past 24 hours.
• Regions you’re utilizing any alpha hydroxy acids over 8%.
• Over or around body piercings.

Contraindicators of Waxing

FOLLOW THESE PRECAUTIONS

Contraindications of Brow Tinting

FOLLOW THESE PRECAUTIONS
• It is recommended that you use a gentle exfoliating acid (nothing intense as Glycolic acid, but a gentle AHA) or gentle physical scrub 24-48 hours prior to your treatment to help prep the skin by removing a layer of dead skin.  

• You take Accutane or have quit taking for less then 6 months.

• Avoid resurfacing treatments including microdermabrasion or microneedling 4 weeks before and 2 weeks after your service.   

• Your brows and the surrounding skin needs to be in a healthy conditions for this service.  You should not complete this treatments if you any of the following contraindications:

NEVER BROW TINT WHEN
• You take Accutane or have quit taking for less then 6 months.
• You are undergoing chemotherapy or other cancer treatments.  
• You have extensive acne and taking prescription acne meds.
• You have utilized a tanning bed within the past 24 hours.
• You have cuts or open wounds near or on your brows.

Contraindicators of Body Wraps

FOLLOW THESE PRECAUTIONS
• Body Wrap treatments involve heat application and compression, therefore can exacerbate cardiovascular conditions and may pose risks during pregnancy. 
• Cancer patients may be undergoing treatments that weaken the immune system or affect skin integrity, making them more susceptible to adverse effects from body wraps.
• Do not Wrap if you have diabetes, epilepsy, or any acute body injury. 
• Do not wrap if you have a fungal skin lesion. Body wraps involve close contact with the skin, increasing the risks of spreading  fungal infections.  
• Individuals with reduced sensation or numbness, such as those with neuropathy, may not be able to perceive discomfort caused by the heat during body wrap treatments, increasing risk of injury.

NEVER WRAP WHEN

• You have Epilepsy.
• You have a heart condition (specifically conditions requiring Coumadin or other blood thinners). 
• You are pregnant or nursing.
• You have cancer or have had cancer that is in remission for less than 2 years.
• You have a history of claustrophobia 
• You have utilized a tanning bed within the past 24 hours.
• Regions you’re utilizing any alpha hydroxy acids over 8%.
• Over or around body piercings.
